Whimsical Garden Gifts are a “Must Have” in my household.
All of my friends and family are gardeners, so I know that they will love my choices of gifts for them. Even my mother who gave up gardening in the ground now gardens on a balcony, so she’s still busy getting her hands dirty. Being Swiss, this is probably a closer reminder for her to her Native land as well.
Whimsy is probably the best way to describe her upper 4th-floor balcony. We help her fill it with lovely little things that will keep her 86-year-old hands and mind enjoying her space.
Garden Flags can be used on a Balcony too!
This wrought iron like flag stand is the perfect size for one wall along the side of her balcony. With seasonal flags to bring joy and remind her that spring or summer or fall is coming. When she doesn’t want to get her hands dirty, this is something she will definitely do. There are so many Flag holders and Flags that you could give a gift several times a year and still have another flag to put out. My Evergreen has so many beautiful flags for all occasions and for your patriotic self too! State flags and the American Flag are some of the best sellers! You don’t have to change them if you don’t want to! If you move then you might want a new flag, otherwise, they will last all year long. My Evergreen only has about 200 plus choices in flags and flag holders. So you know the ones I have shown you are just the tip of the iceberg (seeing as how it’s winter, I’ll use that)! Do check out all the possibilities. Flags are quite inexpensive and they are lovely in their designs.
Keeping your feet clean is fun with these coir mats.
The other things that bother her, are getting dirt into the apartment. She’s 86 and isn’t able to clean as easily as she used to, so cleanliness is another hurdle for her……no problem! Wiping your feet on these guys will make you smile and keep the dirt where the dirt belongs, outdoors!
Check out this gorgeous carpet for in front of the doorway! I love it and think it’s just the cat’s meow!
I know she happens to love owls, so this will be right up her alley, so to speak. Don’t you think this is a great idea for all gardeners? Personally, I will be putting this on my wish list. This is so cute and every gardener I know would want one for sure.
I love MY Evergreen! There are just so many fun and useful products for the home gardener and anyone who just loves to have a touch of whimsy in their home space. Balconies, Patios, and backyards are wonderful places to add just a little touch of fun. If you have children or grandchildren they will enjoy the little touches that say they are at Grandmas and Grandpas house. I know that my Grandchildren love those little things, from the fairy houses to the touches of fairies floating around the yard, they are always excited to see what I have added to the mix. So when my birthday rolls around and I know that they are getting me something new for my garden space….I will be as giddy as a young girl and ask for help to seek out the perfect spot for their latest gift. The next time they visit, that will be the first place they will go. They love seeing their gifts in my yard and how much I enjoy sharing them with the family.
Sports Fanatics can get in on the fun too! Whatever your sport there is some Garden Whimsey for you too.
As the children grow, you can change up your garden or patio space to reflect your favorite sports teams! There are wonderful items that will make your love for a certain team undeniable. It really is good fun, and helps to keep friendly rivalries going.
My bet is that the Granddads, Dads, and Kids will all have a say in whose banners are floating around the Grand’s(Grandmas and Grandpas) Garden and Patio. Who knows what kind of rivalry will be happening there? I know that it will be the cause of a lot of laughter and maybe even some bets on the outcome of the game. I love the personalized aspect of my team being cheered on from my garden. It’s all in good fun and meant to bring joy and some happiness to families. Rest assured, in my family, there is never a dull moment when it comes to decorating the space I love the best. My garden is the place where more family and friends get together than anywhere else. Everyone enjoys the garden and I mean to keep it that way.
Check out My Evergreen for yourself and I bet you will find that unusual garden gift that makes the garden complete. If you click on any of the banners, you will find all kinds of fun.
I’d love to hear about your favorites and don’t be shy…..just drop me a note and let me know….

What a beautiful balcony! That is about my speed when it comes to gardening. If it were warmer here I might do more but container gardening is all I can manage in this climate.

Isn’t that just the prettiest balcony you ever saw? I think my mother would love it if her’s looked this nice. It’s nice, but not as nice as the picture. Oh well, it’s a typical picture of balconies in Europe! I love container gardening too. It’s much easier than digging by hand.

The balcony garden is so very beautiful, the color and density of the flowers is lovely. I like that owl mat, so very cute and colorful.

It is very pretty indeed Kathleen! I love the Owl Mat, it just gives your guests a reason to smile even before they enter your door.

I think it is really cool that your mom still gardens a manageable area. The little door mats are a great way for me to add a useful touch of whimsy to our home. Sadly, the flags would never survive with our pups, but I do think they are cute.
Grammie Olivia says
Thank you Miss Cynthia, yes she loves to get her hands dirty, just a little though. Glad you liked the door mats. I think they are my personal favorite. Yes, garden flags and puppies are not necessarily a good combination. lol

That’s great that she’s 86 and can still garden and do things on her balcony. I would love to get into a little bit of gardening.
Grammie Olivia says
Oh Michelle, you can start little and let it grow into more as you have success or find your enjoyment level. All it takes is one big pot and some dirt a few seeds and a bit of love….

(I meant your mother, not your grandmother.)

I understood, no problem….

The owl rugs are cute! I love that your grandmother gardens on her balcony!
Grammie Olivia says
Yes Sheila Jo, she has to have somewhere to get her hands dirty. Pots are so much easier for her to handle too.

I created a vision board two years ago and, one of the things on my 15-year plan was to have a garden in my home! I don’t have a green thumb. In fact, I think I have the opposite. So it’s something I want to get better at for the future!
Grammie Olivia says
The beauty about gardening is that you can get better at it. It’s a learning experience that grows….pardon the pun….

We don’t have a large yard, so most of our plants are on our deck. I do love all of these neat products. Especially when I clicked on the spotrs banner the fist think I saw was a Steeler wallet!!! Love the Steelers!!
Grammie Olivia says
Well now Sam, I do expect that there will be some decorating of your balcony/deck with all manner of Steelers goods. They have Steelers flags too! Nice to know that you can let your preferences be known! Go Steelers Go!

Aren’t they the cutest Pat? I love all the little whimsical items that you can place in and around the balcony. Kids love to find little items hidden just for them!

I love to garden. I am going to be gardening in containers this next summer. I thinkI will plant a rose bush in the tire. Sunflowers under the big old tree out back. As nothing else grows out there. Most flowers and tomatoes in the front flower bed.
Grammie Olivia says
Sandy, it sounds like you have done your homework and planning for this years gardens. I am getting seed catalogues in the mail every other day and just drooling over all the new veggie strains and flowers too.
