Christmas time is Family time. Having the Family together makes the holidays perfect. Matching pajamas makes for perfect pictures to enjoy later!
Christmas Pajamas as a Traditional Pre-Christmas Gift
If Grandma and Grandpa are coming from out of town, surprise them with Pajamas that match the rest of the family. Even better, if the Aunties and Uncles from out of town, get involved as well. We have pajamas for all of you and the whole gang is going to look incredibly cozy. I would bet there will be a tripod, camera and many pictures taken to enjoy later.

Christmas Eve Traditions
Our family always does their Christmas religious activities the night before. Christmas Eve mass, is an event we all look forward to. The children singing and re-enacting the Christmas play are sights to behold. Coming home, the children are wired so it's a great time to break that tension with a little pre-Christmas gift. When it's time to say Good Night, there's a present waiting for everyone at the end of the bed. Imagine the smiles when everyone sees their new pajamas, just waiting for them to wear. Once they are all decked out and tucked into bed, it's time to dream about Santa's arrival.
Christmas Morning Rituals
I can already see and hear the first sounds of little feet hitting the floor on Christmas morning. Barely awake, the little ones I'm sure will be in awe at all the parcels and presents that have magically appeared overnight. Besides checking to see if Santa has eaten the cookies and drunk the milk, the children will be full of extra excitement and wonder. No time to get dressed, and who needs to? It's a morning meant for being a little bit lazy. We have been to church already, so the morning is ours, with no need to get dressed up yet.
Christmas Breakfast and Opening Gifts
Breakfast will probably be done in a much more leisurely fashion. Everyone is in their pajamas and everyone is toasty warm. Snacking on good food all the while eyeing the presents. It's a special time, because how often do we spend our mornings laughing and hugging, munching and taking pictures all the while we are in our PJ's. This is a once a year event. Christmas is the Event!
Christmas Pajamas just happens to be one way of making sure everyone matches and no one is left out.
It also makes sure that all the pictures taken Christmas morning will have the same theme. Pajamas and presents, everyone matches nicely and the pictures are a real hoot! Make sure you take a few posed pictures too before all the presents are opened, you just might have next year's Christmas card in the making.

I fondly remember how my mom used to make matching PJ’s for me and my cousins so we could all wear them after dinner at our family Christmas Eve gathering. I think it’s a fun tradition.
Oh, Barbara, you are so right, that is a lovely tradition. Today many moms don’t have the time to make matching PJ’s, so it’s nice to know that they are available. I love the tradition myself.
Great idea and adorable jammies!
They are really cute aren’t they Dawn Rae? I love the look of the whole family in their matching pj’s!
Our family always had a pre-Christmas gift to open on Christmas Eve — usually new pajamas, but not always. We didn’t go for matching pjs, tho, more for designs our kids enjoyed, like Disney themed, etc.
Dear Miss Elf, there are no hard and fast rules about this. I just like that they all match and that pictures end up looking so cute! I’ve done the Disney routine as well with my Grand Daughters and that is a lot of fun too! The whole idea is family time together and what better day than Christmas to share that!
Well, I definitely think the whole family should have matching pjs for Christmas. We have done this very thing for decades.
Oh, Miss Cynthia, I’m so glad there is someone like me who enjoys this season as much as we do. Christmas PJ’s for the whole family is just such a fun thing to do. Children love getting one present the night before Christmas to break the tension and excitement. What better way to do this than a warm pair of new pajamas. Christmas pictures are just too cute with everyone coordinated and enjoying each other’s company. Thanks for your comments and stopping in.
Nice pyjamas but you do realise that not everyone wears pyjamas . . . 🙂
Yes, Bill, I’m sure that not everyone wears PJ’s but for Christmas. I’m sure that they would make an exception if they were visiting. They could always put them on for pictures and sleep however they really want to….
I have never done this but love the idea.
A friend of mine has always done this, to the point that she will send the PJ’s ahead of time to wherever they are spending Christmas so that everyone is prepared. The pictures are out of this world.
I love Christmas pajamas. We always did this when my kids were around.
Heather, now that the kids are grown, send them matching pajamas and share how great you all look on FB or another social platform. Everyone would be connected by their PJ’s.
