There are many Gardeners on my Christmas List, so how do I make them happy? Use this list for the Best Gifts for Garden Lovers in your family.
So glad you asked! Gardeners in my part of the world are not working in the garden outdoors anymore, it’s too cold. But they are dreaming of the garden to come! That’s what gardeners do best when they can’t get their hands dirty! Winter gives every gardener a time to reflect on what grew well in the garden in 2016 and what didn’t do so well. They are making their lists for the garden of 2017!
Here are some ideas to keep that garden lover in your life happy!
Every Gardener I know likes to decorate their garden space in some manner that makes them smile and enjoy their space. To that end, a Master Gardeners Mug would be a welcome addition. After all working in a garden is hard work and a beverage in a mug is always welcomed. The little Willow Tree Garden Angel will happily sit amongst the gardener’s indoor plants. She will lend her calm presence to all the greenery indoors. I like the “Welcome” sign. It’s kind of unique and whimsical with all the pretty birds in a row. That would bring a smile to my face for sure.
Garden Tools for the Garden Lover
Dreaming about next years garden also entails thinking about how to make it easier to do all the tasks involved in keeping the garden looking nice. If your gardener doesn’t have one yet, this garden stool makes a great gift. Kneeling and weeding in the garden is so much easier with this wonderful addition. It flips over to become a bench where you can sit and admire the work being done. A watering can and garden gloves are always and I do mean always welcome. I know from my own experiences that one pair of garden gloves is never enough to see me through the whole season. I particularly like the long sleeved gloves. They would be a bonus when working in the Raspberry patch. All those little thorns wouldn’t bother me at all. As for the hand tools, that is another gift that a gardener will appreciate. Trowels and hand rakes are a must have for every gardener.
Different Areas, Different Needs for the Garden
Depending on where you live, there may or may not be any different needs or wants for your favorite gardener. Some things you need to have regardless of where you call home, or where you garden. Southern Gardeners might garden in containers to keep the needs of watering down to a minimum. Of they may grow large tracts of flowers and vegetables. There are great gifts for those gardeners too. Containers, beautiful clay pots, watering cans or an irrigation system are all gifts that every gardener I know would love to have. Depending on your budget, you can fill every desire for the garden lover in your home.
Eco-Friendly Gifts for Garden Lovers
Today with the emphasis on helping nature with the decline of bees and butterflies, there are many gifts for that Eco-friendly gardener in your life. Without the bees and butterflies to pollinate our plants, most gardeners would work in vain. I know they would welcome some really neat and unique gifts to help them keep Mother Nature happy. Bee houses and butterfly friendly watering stations would be a boost for the garden lovers needs. These can be purchased or even hand-made. There are books that can teach your garden lover how to start worm farming or you can even get kits already put together for that purpose. Imagine the smile on the face of your favorite gardener, when they see how thoughtful you were!
Gardening is a Lifestyle, one that is taken very seriously. Garden Lovers everywhere are learning to work with Nature!
Gardeners have a wonderful hobby that keeps them busy and always looking for the next challenge. There isn’t a gardener in my circle of friends who doesn’t like to push the limits of where they live and grow things. There is always something new to learn about. Whether it’s composting properly, enticing nature to come for a visit, or just planting a new garden bed, there’s always something new to do.
I hope that in a small way I have been able to help you arrive at some beautiful, useful and needed items for the garden lover in your family. Please know that any one of the gifts suggested here, from my perspective, would make a wonderful and appreciated opportunity to see someone smile and dream.

I think the gardening gloves would be at the top of my list — gloves with heavy leather sleeves that go almost to the elbow for working with thorny shrubs and berries of all kinds.
Grammie Olivia says
Aren’t they the nicest kind of gloves, Barbara? I’ll let Santa know that those would be right up your alley.
Clearissa Coward says
I am a gardener and I love the angel and the mouse watering can. You have chosen some really unique gifts. I wonder if it would selfish to buy myself a Christmas gift? 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Grammie Olivia says
Dear Clearissa, gardeners by nature are not and I mean NOT selfish in any way that I know of. They are the most helpful and sharing people I know. Would you be selfish? Not a chance. If you really like them then make sure that they come from Santa under your tree! They are cute aren’t they?

Great gardening gift ideas! This year I want a new raised bed garden, which would make a great gift for me. For others, I think gardening gloves are always an excellent choice for a gardener.
Grammie Olivia says
Dear Susan, a new raised garden bed, wow, I can agree with that! Gardening gloves are a must have and I don’t know a gardener that has only one pair. I go through at least 2 pair every season. Hope Santa hears your wishes loud and clear.

These are all wonderful gifts for the gardener, the little angel is cute and I happen to collect Willow Tree figurines. So it’s one of my favorites.
