Christmas is a wonderful time of year when everyone seems filled with joy and excitement. Share your Joy in your neighborhood, with wonderful Christmas decorations.
Christmas is that time of year when everyone is gearing up and their emotions are all about happiness, joy, and sharing that with everyone they meet. In the northern parts, people count the good weather days as another opportunity to deck their halls and homes with the sights and sounds of the season. I know we have been blessed with temperatures that make it quite easy to be outdoors making sure that our Christmas decorations look “Just Right”!
Christmas on a Budget
With all of the other preparations for the holiday season, it’s quite easy to go over budget with the little extras. Our family builds on the decorations of years past. That way we keep adding to our “stash” but we never break the bank for those additions to our Outdoor Decorating Budget.
I search out decorations that are effective and reasonably priced. When we get everything together, our home looks like it has been decorated with as much care as our Christmas tree.

Christmas Decorations for Outdoors
We love the season, we love the decorating and we love the outcome. We are just plain Christmas crazy.
We love Snowmen and lights, Christmas trees and Candy Canes. All of it says Christmas to me. In our yard, you will also find Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus. It is His Birthday we are celebrating and we are Christians. We have many friends that are Christians but don’t like to make a public display and that is totally alright too. It’s the Spirit of Christmas that is much more important than the display you make. Peace, Love, and Joy should be the utmost part of the season for everyone.
How about you? Do you like to decorate and have your home stand out during the Holidays? Leave a message in your comments, I’d love to hear what you do for the Christmas Season.
We haven’t done much outdoor decorating for Christmas in recent years, mostly because our house sets off the road and is hard to see. However… next year will be our first year with grandchildren so it’s hard to say what “Pop” might have up his decorating sleeve this time next year!
Susan, it’s amazing what happens when grandchildren get into the mix. Grandpa will go out of his way to make this magical and entertaining for the whole family, especially the grandson…..Here’s hoping that it will be seen off the road too.
WE don’t do anything anymore. It used to be a big deal when the kids were with us, but we don’t have the heart for it anymore. We never did do the yard decorations — just lights one year in our other house when Jason was around to put them up. We aren’t physically able to decorate our yard, but we love looking at what others in our neighborhood do. One of our friends in another city used to put a nativity set in her yard every year. The last time someone stole Joseph right out of her nativity set. Not everyone behaves better during the Christmas season.
My dear Barbara, I know that this time of year can be difficult. AS we are getting older too, we don’t do as much as we used to do. I love to see the decorations though. Someone stole Joseph? Oh my. You are right, just because it’s Christmas there are people who will do bad things.
I freely admit, I am a bit Christmas crazy myself! I may not decorate quite as much as I did when our children were little, but I still love decorating for Christmas. I have always wanted the Nativity scene in my yard, but simply never purchased it. I should do that and make it the decoration I add this year.
We’ve had one for years, this year I need to touch up the statues, the paint seems to be a little flaky. I love mine and it reminds me to keep myself centered just a little when I get too crazy.
My favorite way to decorate for Christmas is to use special tree ornaments collected throughout the years. My decorating is all inside, except for a special set of Christmas bells that hang on the front doorknob and ring whenever someone comes in or goes out.
Oh, that is such a cute idea Miss Elf. As the years go by I can appreciate doing more indoors and less out! I hate when it’s Easter before I get all the Christmas outside stuff put away……..
