Every Gardener is always looking for Ways to Display their beautiful potted plants!
From novice green thumbs to the most experienced gardeners, there is one thing we all have in common, we want to share the beauty that we have around us! Finding beautiful ways to display your potted plants adds a whole new dimension to your gardening efforts. Now, in the garden that is easy. You will be rewarded when you plant your plants and love them through the growing season. But what about those plants that grow better in pots? Gardeners always look for more places to beautify. You can increase the beauty of the plants you currently have growing by making them into Hanging plants and planters. I love to grow things on my porch and my deck! The porch faces north, so shady loving plants will thrive without too much care. My Deck on the other hand, faces south, so something that loves sunshine and warmth would be a better choice for that location.
In either place, I don’t want to crowd my space by having pots on the surface. So what is a die hard gardener supposed to do?
Let’s take a look at some of the options available to us! Potted Plant Hangers, Macrame, or other ways to Display your Potted Plants are all available.
A great alternative to having pots crowding the flat surfaces is to attach hanging hooks to the walls of your home, in the areas you use . These hooks come in all kinds of styles and sizes, so that you can make a choice that suits your personality. Make sure you have the placement right when drilling the holes for these hooks. The beauty is lost if you can’t seeing the plants hanging from the hooks! You should be able to reach these potted plants easily, as they will require more watering than those in the ground. Below you will find a nice selection of hooks that would enhance the beauty of your space.
Hooks are not the only way to Display your Green Thumb and your Potted Plants!
Garden hooks are made for most hanging type planters, but what if you don’t like those kinds of potted plants? What do you do then? Well, not to worry, there are several other ways to enhance your outdoor growing space.
A great idea is to mount Outdoor plant pots to the wall surface to be flush with the wall. Just set your pots into the rings and let them grow. Great for smaller plants that like to have an outdoor experience. Cactus, spider plants, even african violets would enjoy a summer outdoors in the right light conditions. You have to do your own homework there!
Mounting Coir lined wire hangers on a railing or a wall will add an instant focal point to some drab little corner. Filled with annuals like petunias, or impatiens they will be a beacon of color the whole season long. Again, you will need to water these according to the weather and amounts of sunshine they are receiving. One great hint for all your annual plantings is to place a disposable diaper at the bottom of your planter. The moisture absorbing material in the diaper will hold water for your plants and keep them from becoming dried out between your daily dose of attention.
There are so many options to Displaying your Potted Plants, let look at them!
If your yard has an overhang, then adding color is a matter of adding some large hooks and hanging your plants from those hooks. Plant hangers can also be made from materials that you have already at home. Jute, twine, cord, wire or any other materials are what you are looking for. All of these can be used to fashion a knotted hanger. If you are feeling really creative, there are Macrame Hangers ( click on the link in blue) that can be made in just a few minutes of time. If you are more handy you can make more elaborate hangers by following some of these instructions. Macrame is all the new rage again. It’s easy and relaxing at the same time and the results are really astounding. These can be made for outdoor use, depending on the cords you use. Be creative and try your hand at something unique and beautiful too. You can be proud of your efforts, every time someone remarks, either about the plant or the planter!

I had two spider plants in macrame hangers I created in California. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed those. I should make some more to display my plants. Thanks for the reminder.

I am just getting out my old macrame books and revisiting some of the projects I had done years ago as well. Now that we are in an apartment, there are walls between the balconies that could use some dressing up. I think I will Macrame something stunning, stay tuned.

I’m thrilled that macrame is popular again. Many, many years ago I did macrame and have made lots of plant hangers. Still enjoy them!

Me too Susan! Macrame is one of those beautiful hobbies that always seemed so beautiful from far away and even more so close up. Getting those knots all lined up and in designs that make such intricate patterns always seems magical to me.

I’m not so good at displaying my potted plants in beautiful ways… but I aspire to be able to do better as time goes one.
