Do you want to know how to Master the Piano in a fun and easy way?
Making music is an activity that we know helps young minds and older minds develop in ways that have many physical, emotional and dare I say it spiritual attributes.

Piano Playing doesn’t have to be boring!
Young children are encouraged to learn to play an instrument from the time they are born. We give them rattles and sing to them in an effort to help them develop their musical abilities.
What if we could make learning an instrument as easy as playing video games?
I bet there would be a marked increase in how many children would actually play! That is the key and the success of using a system like Piano Wizard!
How it works!
Changing the way children see the lessons, makes the lessons more fun to learn. They feel like they are playing a video game, yet in fact, they are hearing and learning where the notes on the keyboard are, by playing those notes.
Traditional versus Modern Techniques
The traditional way of teaching piano has the child repeatedly playing the same notes over and over again. How boring! Then you have to get them home and practice those notes over and over some more. Most kids get bored with this method of learning.
Piano Wizard has found a way to make piano lessons fun and stimulating at the same time. The keyboard is lit up with colors that match the notes on the computer screen. The children learn the notes both by seeing where they are on the keyboard as well as hearing them. As they progress, the notes move faster and faster along so that the dexterity needed to play is slowly built up. Kids have fun making music and learning at the same time.
It is akin to learning how to keyboard on your computer. It’s much more fun to learn and see what you are typing and your skills increase as well. The same method is what works for Piano Wizard!
No more boring repetitive scales, no more nagging for your children to sit at the piano and practice. All those things are part of the bygone days of learning how to play the piano. Just imagine how much more fun they would have if this was their practice screen:
What a neat way to get the kids excited. Dinosaurs to help them learn their notes. Dinosaur eggs to help them play. It’s a win-win situation and you only have to buy the program once and all your children will benefit!
I know that I would be playing with this program after the kids were in bed at night! It’s so much fun to be able to share the music in our lives.

I only had a year of lessons when I was young, but I loved playing, it was the practicing the scales I hated! This is fabulous!!

I think so too Melinda. My kids took lessons and hated, just hated the scales over and over and over. Then they would have to come home and do it some more. This way the scales are a game and kids play the scales but think they are playing a computer game. It’s a win-win situation.
This is adorable. I have always wanted to play. I had a cousin who played really well. She played for her church and other as well, but I always thought that was not my gift, but it could be for my grandchildren. Thank you for sharing this with the Blogging Grandmothers. I hope you will join us again next week.
Don’t give up on yourself so quickly. I’m thinking of getting it for myself this year…..You can learn if you want to and if it’s fun even better. Yes, see you at the next link party!
Learning how to play the piano is something I always wanted to learn and regret it to this day. Always encourage grandchildren to learn an instrument. Thanks for joining Blogging Grandmothers link party.
Candy, I was just telling Grammy, that I’m thinking of taking this up at my age (60+) If the kids can do it while learning, what’s to stop me? I can play computer games and learn too. I’m going to give it a try. Maybe just maybe there is a piano wizard within me!
WOW! That is awesome. Never heard of Piano Wizard before but it sounds like fun. I took piano lessons as a child and it was very boring. Wish I had Piano Wizard but of course there were no home computers back in the 60s! Thanks so much Olivia for joining in on our Blogging Grandmothers Link Party #2. We sure appreciate you partying with us! Looking forward to you joining us again next weekend!
Hey Grammy, I never had the opportunity to learn any instrument when I was young, I’m thinking of giving this a go at my “advanced” age. Kids hate boredom and this would keep them playing and learning as they go. I think it is the way of the future with learning how to play an instrument. Piano is one of the basic ones, if you know how to play that, you can branch out to other instruments too. It was fun joining the blog hop. Will try to join earlier next week.
I love to see kids developing an interest in music. I also appreciate anything that helps make learning fun.
Val, the way kids pick up electronics today, I think Piano Wizard is just right up their alley so to speak.
This sounds like it would be so awesome for kids to get them interested in piano and exciting their music genes.

That’s a great way to put it, Kathleen. I love it when a child’s music gene gets turned on. It’s a talent that if learned young, will take them through their whole life.
Well… I wish someone had introduced me to this back when I was learning how to play the piano 🙁 I stopped after two years. But yeah, these seem super fun!
I so agree, Bethanny, most kids stop after 1 to 2 years and the parent’s are usually happy to stop nagging their children to practice practice practice….It’s really sad though because learning to play rewires their brains and really helps them in a lot of other areas of life. If learning is fun, the children are much more likely to stick with it and if they are really enjoying the lessons they can move forward at their own speed. I’m 62 and seriously considering getting this for myself. I’m sure it would be a marvelous way to learn even at my age.
This is a fantastic post, My daughter self taught piano and now is taking piano in high school and at the top of her class. Her teacher even called me to commend her for being self taught and doing so fantastic at it. It’s great to learn musical instruments – we have piano, flute and trombone in our house 😉
You are so lucky that you have a gifted child. Some do teach themselves, but most need to go through lessons to learn how to play. Being able to play an instrument is a great gift that should be fostered. I’m so glad to hear that she is doing well. I love to hear these kinds of stories about gifted children. Thanks for visiting Brandy!
I learned piano when I was younger but was not as interested in the lessons when I was younger. The one time I was actually excited about it was when I got to do a Mariah Carey song! I wonder if kids would be more excited about learning if they got to pick a popular song!
Oh i am sure that they would be more excited if they got to pick the songs, but any instrument, you need to learn the basics before you can jump in with two feet…..
This program lets them walk and then run.
My kids learned the traditional way, but I know Jason would have liked this way much better had it been available.
I think a lot of children would have preferred this way to learn piano. My own children hated the drills and sitting at the piano playing the same notes over and over and over again…..
Nice post! We have the same piano and it’s definitely fun to play the key notes. It’s so much simpler to learn through memorizing.
I think this method teaches them to recognize the notes as well. They can “play” the game in many ways so that once they are proficient, they can move onto scaled notes.
How cool! I am not musical and have no clue how to read music, but I enjoy piano playing.
Alicia, you must be a natural then. When I sit at the piano, I can’t make sounds that anyone other than me can stand. I need all the help I can get.
Absolutely, kids cannot handle the conventional method of learning something like this, as it would be a burden from them. Instead, they can learn smoothly with an incorporated game or fun task associated with it. The example of video game is appropriate; how to play piano is important, not how to learn it.
Music makes their minds stronger, it builds different neural pathways in the brain. And yes, it doesn’t matter how they learn, it’s that they can learn in a format that they like.
When I was younger I played the flute. I would love to learn how to play the piano.
Brenda, I’m thinking of giving it a try myself. Never too old to learn something new.
I learned to play the piano when I was young by reading music. I was taught to read music in school. I have not touched a piano since i was a child. I don’t knwo anyone who has one now.
At least you learned how to play an instrument. I would love to consider myself just a little musical, but alas I am not.
I d love to learn how to play piano. I played a wind instrument in junior high and high school. It would have been nice to know how to play the piano at the time too!
I am going to try this for myself, I’m 62 now and never had the opportunity to learn any kind of instrument, I think I could learn this though.
I have absolutely no musical ability whatsoever. When I was coerced into joining my school orchestra I ended up playing the triangle! Even if the piano wizard was available way back then it wouldn’t have helped me but I can see how it would help children whose attention must be captured before they are willing to learn.
Oh Bill, don’t give up on yourself so easily. I’m sure there must be something musical about you. But I do agree with your points. Kids today learn so easily on electronic devices and they are not scared to try anything……
I was raised listening to the piano, we played around with them but never owned one, in school I decided on loving the sounds of horns so I took those up.
Horns are good too, once you learn how to read the music the biggest hurdle is already jumped. The nuances of other instruments still needs to be worked on, but it’s not impossible.
Yep, I’d be playing with this, too, when the kiddos weren’t around! Brilliant concept, making learning piano as easy as playing a video game!
Susan, I am thoroughly convinced that this is the way I will learn to play. Never had the opportunity to learn piano as a child and I always wished I could. Now I think I have found my avenue to being a piano player, finally!
This looks like such a fun way to teach kids how to play the piano. My son loves piano apps, I’m always amazed to see how fast his fingers fly across the iPad when he plays them.
You know Nikki, I only learned how to type well when I could see what I was typing and it made the learning process so much easier. This system does the same for the piano. Kids that enjoy playing games will love this way of learning an instrument.
