Summer is truly upon us!
We have all waited a long time for the weather to warm up and now it’s here. So let’s make the best of it and have some Summertime fun!
Children are naturals when it comes to playing outdoors. Give them a space that they can call their own and enjoy, it’s summertime fun time! The space can be fairly small, on a deck or balcony, but let’s make it an interesting space! Some of our best memories with our children can be made when we play at the beach or along the seashore. There is so much to discover and learn while playing with the elements. Water in the summertime has to be one of the all time favorite things kids of all ages love to play with. Sand would be the other choice. Put the two together and you have a party of summertime fun in the making.
If you can only have one of these elements to work with, I would suggest a Water Table Activity Center!
Splash tables or activity tables take up a very small footprint, but they will provide hours of summertime fun! Little hands love playing with water and activities related to water. So these tables are a huge success when it comes to keeping the little ones happy. Filled with water there are at least 10 activities that are part of the splash table, but so many more possibilities if you add a few figures into the mix. Pouring water from cups to buckets and into shapes will keep little hands playing for hours. All you need is a warm day and you are good to go!
Add a few of their favorite bath toys and you can have hours and hours of fun with your children. Who doesn’t like squeeze and splash toys? I know in the summertime these will be a fun way for adults and children to interact. I would bet there will be hours of laughter and fun for everyone. At the end of the day, there will be happy and very tired children too! Playing outdoors is good for them and it tires them out. They will be ready for a good night’s sleep and they know they can do it all over again tomorrow too! Running back and forth with their favorite octopus or fish to show you what they have done, will be a great way to teach and play at the same time.
Dual Water and Sand Activity Center
The other possibility that I really like for children is the dual Activity Center with lid. Why? Well it’s a great choice because you have the best of both worlds. Water and Sand in the same place. Children’s imaginations will let them build sand castles and play with water at the same time. Back and forth they go between the two. They can turn their Activity Center into a bakery or a mountain adventure for their little people friends. Water and sand make up hours of fun in the yard. When you can’t get away to the beach, this might be the next best thing.
Even the lid for this structure is a useable racetrack for all those little cars. Hours of play just waiting to happen. The lid is especially nice when play time is over. Everyone who has had sand boxes knows that the neighborhood cats and other animals love to make use of these sand traps for their own personal needs. So when play time is over, the lid goes on and the sand is kept clean and neat for the next time. Water is drained through the plug. Everyone wants to do their part to keep mosquitos at bay. So no standing water for them to breed in. This activity center is a nice neat way for children to enjoy the summertime and stay safe too!
Let’s make some great memories and have a blast of a time too! They are only little for such a short time, make the most of it!
Most Important! Never leave your children unattended. Even small amount of water can be hazardous to their health!

Our granddaughters have Step2 kitchen sets and it’s a joy to watch them play with it. I think Step2 makes just the coolest products for kids. Thanks Olivia 🙂

My children always looked forward to the summer! We usually spent a week or 10 days in Florida, but there was still plenty of time at home and they loved being outside. They would have loved the summer activity sets you have featured!

My grandchildren have had these activity tables for the last 10 years and just this year they are not so interested anymore. But they lasted 10 years and there is still a lot of life in the toy, so another family will be making use of these activity tables. Lots and lots of play value especially at home.

I know my Jason would have loved this when he was young. These are great ideas for creative play during the summer.

My grandchildren have them and play for hours. This year is the first time that they are more interested in the pool and “big kid” toys. So the water table is being donated to another family for their childrens’ use! These are really sturdy and have already gone through three very active kids and there is still lots of playtime left in the toy! I was amazed that it lasted that long and went through so many winters too!
