So when you get excited about crafting new things, February seems to be the month that starts it all!
At least is seems that’s when I can start. Christmas things are all put away and February is just begging for some attention. So along comes Valentine’s Day! It’s smack dab in the middle of the month! There are just so many things to do and make! Dollar Tree is a great place to start looking for the things you will need. Card crafting, T-shirts and more are all possibilities. If you don’t feel like crafting your own, you can also purchase cards already for your words of love inside.
What’s Coming up in March?
March comes in like a lion right behind February. St. Patrick’s Day is calling you! Who doesn’t love to put their Irish on! Everyone is Irish on the 17th! Dollar Tree makes that easy to pull off too! Shamrocks are everywhere with green being the color of choice for this month! I’m sure that there is something special to help make your days around St. Patty’s a fun holiday for you and all your friends. For the gardeners in your life, it’s also the time that you will find seeds and pots, soil and everything else you could want! Put together a little care package and it will soothe the gardeners soul until they can get out and about!
What’s coming up in April?
Right after that, we are getting ready for Easter! Sunday April 4th is the special day this year. Start early and you won’t be disappointed. With everyone facing restrictions on where we can and cannot go, starting early makes even more sense! You can make your Easter baskets up early so that you can deliver to your children and grandchildren and have a really nice driveway, drive by! Because health and safety are the Number one priority, we can still work on having some fun too! I can see the kids gladly making their way down the drive to see what the bunny has for them! Pop the trunk and guess what?, the Easter Bunny has left them Easter treats in Grammie’s and Grampa’s car! How wonderful is that?
Your crafting dollar goes a lot farther if you start with the basics, because then you and your children can work your magic with them. Your family will love receiving a special little basket of candies, cookies, or some of their favorite goodies. Easter stuffed critters are always welcomed by the little ones and Dollar Tree has you covered there too! Bunnies, bears, lambs and ducks are all cause for a smile or two!
With Dollar Tree on your side, you won’t have to break the bank. They make it easy to make the whole family smile! After all that’s what fun holidays are all about!
Grandma and Gramps will enjoy a lovely little plant potted up in a colorful Easter basket! Children can add their own personality to each one, with a little help from you! After all, these are what great memories are made of. We will look back on these times, the memories we are creating now will make us smile for years to come. That’s what holidays and family mean!
I know from my own experience that time spent making something special for the Grandparents is time that the children will remember! The grandparents will have smiles on their faces for months and months to come. It is the little thoughtful things that make life special.
Teach your children the beauty of giving! After all, they will take pride in making something that will give them a great memory for years to come. The grandparents will never forget it either.

What happened to the directions to make Yip Yip costumes? I literally just pinned it this morning and went back a few hours later to make the supply list, and the page is no longer available.

Hey Jennifer, I have no idea why this disappeared for you. The Yip Yip costumes are quite easy to make actually. You will need fabric (I used velour) enough to cover you from head to foot. So it depends on how tall you are! Take a measurement and add a few inches to be on the safe side. I’m 5’7″ so I purchased 4 years and had a little leftover. 67 x 2 (for the front and back) divided by 36 for yards or 39 for meters. You will also need some sheer black for the mouth opening. The easiest way for me to figure that out was to mark my fabric in half and then on one side of the half about 8 inches down I marked the point at the center and then made a half circle about 12 inches wide….. That will be the front of the costume. in that half round opening you will insert the black sheer fabric. The easiest way to do this is to pin it all around the opening and only cut away the excess after you have tried it on. Much of this costume is try and go forward. The eyes are glued with a really good heavy duty glue and googles are attached if you have them or you can draw circles in the styrofoam balls. Attached antenas are pipe cleaners.
Scissors for the hem, just zig zag cuts. Put it over your head and you are ready to go! Have fun. If you need more help let me know!
