The Best Garden Broom is one that is easy to use and works well.
What makes this broom better than any other, you might ask. From experience I can tell you that this broom is much better at sweeping and moving garden debris. The sweep is much stiffer than a regular corn broom and that stiffness makes it excellent at getting all of the garden “gunk” together. Made from coconut palms the broom is not only natural but also made of sustainable and biodegradable materials. Maple keys and birch buds easily move, when swept with this broom.
Unlike corn brooms, that if not properly taken care of disintegrate in a year, these work horses of the garden work well even when they are wet. Hanging them up after use is still a good practice, but if you forget, you won’t have lost your investment.
Why use the Best Garden Broom instead of Blowing?
If you are anything like me, your time spent in the garden should be a time of quiet enjoyment. I love to hear the birds singing and the frogs croaking, but I really dislike the sound of Electric or gas leaf blowers. When you see groundskeepers wearing ear protection while blowing their debris, you know that the sounds coming out of those machines is formidable. The Best Garden Broom does not require any ear protection while in use. The only addition might be some garden gloves, but that is even optional.

Taking the Time to Sweep!
There is something cathartic about using your own strength and body motions to accomplish small tasks. Sweeping your driveway or walks can be just that way too. It’s a motion that is soothing and the results are pleasing to the eye. No ears were hurt in the process either. If a neighbor stopped by while you were sweeping, it would be nothing to stop for a minute, to have that nice chat. Catching up on what is happening in the neighborhood and just having a chat to be friendly, is good for the gardeners soul too!
There are Other Benefits as Well
My biggest reason for liking a hand powered broom, is that I am not adding anything to the air that wasn’t there before. No gas fumes from leaf blowers or no added use of electricity for the electrically powered ones. My hydro bill will not suffer and my gardens, walkways and drive will be neat and tidy. The birds, butterflies, and bees will not have been sent into outer space by the violent winds and noise of those mechanically powered blowers. All the time I am out there working, I can enjoy the lovely melodies that my little feathered friends are singing.
No pollution in the air from fumes and no noise pollution either. It is a win-win situation for all gardeners.
